1) From the DogTime Blog Network: Tough Times for Rescue Groups

11/18/09 MANDY and the gang are very concerned about the following story - we are asking if you cannot give a large donation - a small one will help.  Donating food for dog or cats at your local shelter is also a good thing to do!  Please give our fellow brothers and sisters a fighting chance until their forever home is found!

The tough economic times have hit all of us, but animal shelters and rescue organizations

are feeling a particular crunch. When people lose their homes or are forced to cut back on

expenses, their pets are sometimes the first to go. Dog food and vet bills can be expensive

- if you have a pet, you know. More...http://blogs.dogtime.com/the-news-hound-blog/2009/11/tough-times-for-rescue-groups

We recently were asked to join the DogTime Blog Network and we said YES!  This is exciting because we get to run with the big dogs telling people about all our great sister's and brothers.  DogTime.com has everything from how to adopt one of us critters to how to train and feed and give TLC.  More later on this exciting news!  We're off to party now!

For all you people who do not have a facebook account and want to foster animals - here are two links:

Users of Save-A-Cat and Save-A-Dog accumulate points by virtually fostering real shelter

cats/dogs on Facebook. For every 2,500 points, our users score, we donate the financial

equivalent of a cup of food to RescueGroups.org, a non-profit organization that provides

free and low-cost technology services to animal shelters and rescue groups across the

country.

I have provided a link to both applications, so please check it out. If you are interested

in participating, let me know and I can send you the tags (image of the badges are below).

Guestbook Shenanigans part two:

I realize that an unwatched child gets into lots of trouble and possible hurts.  Months ago, there were hackers that took over the K-9s site to talk drugs and the problems associated with drugs.  I again recently, due to home health problems, had to leave this site unattended, thinking now you must sign in as a guest before you can post so all is secure.  NOT SO!  I just deleted another dozen posts inappropriate for the age level of our readers SO be aware, if I must again step away from daily check in on this site, I will appoint one of my helpers to delete the posts that do not directly refer to the dogs in this series or one of their friends.

Posts relating to pet  issues are welcome!  Dropping by to say hi to the gang is great.  We always love to hear from our friends.
